Crash Pads

Top quality Crash Pads from Greatmats can be used in a number of different applications for several different purposes.  Initially designed as a foam safety mat to protect martial artists from takedowns and high throws, these foam mats are built to last.  They are excellent for drilling students on proper rolling techniques.  In cases such as a diving forward roll, good crash pads can be essential for safe MMA instruction.

Crash Pads come in three thicknesses:
Our 4″ Safety Mats are built for younger athletes where just a little extra protection is needed.  They are great for jumping around, wrestling, and learning the basics of various martial arts.  YMCA-type multipurpose facilities often purchase these mats for basic use.  They’re safer than the floor and, best of all, they’re fun!
Our 8″ mats are the staple of most martial arts programs.  Specifically designed for perfecting take-downs, they can provide a safe landing for adults in combat training of all sorts.  8” crash pads feature breather mesh on the sides that allows air to escape on impact.  This allows for an even landing for the athlete and protects the mat from damage.  These mats feature a double stitched, 18 oz. Vinyl coated poly surface.  These rugged tumbling mats have a heavy duty #10 zipper and feature 2” poly handles on all sides.
Use our 12″ crash matswhere extra protection is needed.  These safety mats provide extra safety for advanced moves, especially on dynamic throws.  In cases where a high release throw is used, this martial arts mat is the best option available. Like our 8” mat, they come with breather mesh, double stitched, 18 oz vinyl, a #10 zipper, and 2” poly handles on every side.
Each of our three thicknesses come in different sizes:  4×6, 4×8, 5×10, and 6×12.   The three largest sizes are also available as a bi-folding mat for easier storage.
All of our Crash Mats meet USAG, NCAA and NFHS competition specifications.

  1. So these are the types of mats that martial artists use for their training. It is commonly seen on gyms where they do several stunts. They can learn better with these mats because they can go all out with confidence that the mat is there to prevent them from having injuries. – Rachel
